In the villa at Beykoz Riva Düşler Vadisi, our goal was to create an island kitchen that strengthens social life, withstands intensive daily use, and keeps order permanent. Circulation was simplified into a continuous loop around the island, allowing everyday routines and hosting scenarios to flow smoothly within the same space.
The island—featuring a generous prep surface, a dedicated cooktop station, and a serving zone—acts as the kitchen’s operations hub. Circulation corridors of 90 cm let two people work simultaneously. By aligning the sink, storage, and service run in one direction, unnecessary backtracking is reduced and service to the table speeds up.
Matte beige fronts paired with walnut-toned panel surfaces create a warm contrast, complemented by the durability of the dark quartz countertop. Its low porosity supports hygiene and easy upkeep, while the slim edge profile adds a light appearance. Glass-framed display cabinets showcase select pieces and add optical depth to the space.
Instead of pendants above the island, evenly distributed recessed spotlights provide general illumination, while under-cabinet linear LEDs deliver task lighting. LED lines inside the vitrines serve as low-level night lighting and soft accents. A 3000K warm tone creates a welcoming, glare-free atmosphere for prep and service.
Every centimeter is utilized with full-height cabinetry, corner mechanisms, deep drawers, and in-drawer organizers. Small-appliance niches keep countertops open and calm. Soft-close runners and hinges with fingerprint-resistant finishes ensure quiet, comfortable use.
A double-oven tower, high-capacity refrigerator, and island cooktop support simultaneous cooking scenarios. A ceiling-integrated extraction path and the recessed lighting layout keep sight lines open, preserving the sculptural presence of the island while delivering strong airflow.
The three-seat setup at the island suits everything from weekday quick breakfasts to short breaks. Because the circulation loop remains clear, service flow continues without bottlenecks; durable worksurfaces and matte textures help the kitchen retain its day-one look even under a busy family rhythm.
This project reflects the island-kitchen standards we’ve developed for Istanbul—especially the Beykoz–Riva area: a fluid plan, timeless materials, layered lighting, and generous storage capacity. The project was completed with post-handover maintenance guidance and warranty coverage.
